The first capital of
Sikkim , the first Chogyal Phunstok Namgyal was consecrated here
in 1642 by three holy Lamas. An hours uphill walk you can visit
the Dubdi Monastery ( built in !700 ) is one of the oldest
monastery in Sikkim. Yuksom serves as the base camp for treks to
the western mountain ranges of Sikkim

Drive to Pemayangtse
en-route visit Kechopari Monastery located just above the Holy
Kechopari Lake.
Pemayangtse “ The Sublime Lotus” is the most important monastery
of the Nyingmapa order of Buddhism. Built in the 17th Century by
Latsun Chembo as a temple, the monastery was later enlarged to its
present structure by the 3rd Chogyal Chakdor Namgyal. Later visit
Sanga Chelling Monastery at Pelling. Overnight in hotel. |

Early morning drive to
Tiger Hill to watch the sun rise over the Kanchendzong range. On a
clear dawn you can see the Makalu range & Mount Everest in Nepal.
On return to Darjeeling visit the Ghoom Yiga Choling Monastery,
Batasia Loop Station & War Memorial. Later visit the Observatory
Hill, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Happy Valley Tea Estate.
