Institute of Tibetology, Enchey Monastery , Phurba Chorten,
Hanuman Tok & Ganesh Tok. and the world famous Rumtek Dharma
Chakra Centre and the Cottage Industries. Over Night halt. |

Gangtok- Lachung

Departure for
North Sikkim en-route visit Phodong Monastery, drive through
Kabi Longstok and other small villages. Arrive Lachung at
8,800 feet a predominantly Bhutia village who came to Sikkim
around the 15th century from Bhutan. The journey takes around
6 hours. Accommodation is very basis in log hut.

Lachung- Yumthang-

Drive to Yumthang
which is at 12,200 feet. On the way we pass the Shingba Forest
Reserve, it is more of a rhododendron sanctuary , what is unique
about the rhododendrons are they bloom in different colours unlike
rhododendrons which are usually red in colour. There are numerous
water falls, streams, hot springs and natures vistas. Return to
Lachung in the evening for overnight. |

Lachung- Lachen |

Depart for Lachen at
9,800 feet on the opposite valley (New Destination-opened in
Dec-2000), most remote village of North Sikkim. Only basic
facilities are available here. There is no Electricity or
attached baths or proper roads but the natures vistas compensates
all those facilities. |

Early morning drive to
Thangu and Chopta Valley at 13, 800 feet and witness the beauty of
the Himalayas. Return to Lachen in the evening for overnight. |
